President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to education digitalization. This was conveyed during the 2026 World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, where he presented his vision for a more advanced national education system.
In his special address on Thursday, January 23, President Prabowo outlined ambitious targets. Every school in Indonesia is expected to have at least six classrooms equipped with Interactive Flat Panels (IFPs). This initiative represents a strategic step by the government.
The program aims to ensure equal access to learning technology across the country, reaching all regions of Indonesia more fairly. This effort serves as a foundational step toward educational progress.
An Ambitious Vision for Classroom Digitalization
President Prabowo Subianto expressed high expectations for the digitalization program.
“We hope that within three years, all schools in Indonesia will have at least six classrooms equipped with digital interactive panels,” Prabowo stated during his special address at the forum. This underscores the government’s seriousness in improving education quality.
As an initial step, the government carried out significant renovations in the previous year. A total of 16,140 schools were renovated to support digital infrastructure. In addition, 288,000 schools received one 75-inch IFP unit as part of the national education digitalization program.
In 2026, the government plans to distribute an additional one million IFP units. This distribution will allow each school to equip three to four classrooms with digital panels, with coverage gradually expanding to six classrooms per school.
Improving Quality and Equal Access
The digitalization program does not focus solely on providing hardware. President Prabowo noted that the initiative also enables the government to monitor teaching quality in real time, as well as student engagement across different regions.
Education digitalization is a key step in empowering future generations. The President emphasized that human resource development is essential for long-term growth and sustainable national prosperity.
Education plays a central role in a nation’s progress and success. Without adequate education, achieving stability and prosperity is difficult. The ability to keep up with modern science and technology is also a crucial requirement.

President Prabowo stressed that a lack of education can lead to state failure.
“A lack of education is a path toward a failed state. No country can expect to be stable and prosperous if its people are illiterate or unable to keep up with modern science and technology,” he stated.
The 2026 World Economic Forum took place from January 19 to 23 under the theme “The Spirit of Dialogue,” addressing global economic challenges. The annual meeting brought together world leaders, economists, academics, and experts.
President Prabowo’s presence at the forum demonstrates Indonesia’s commitment to actively participating in global discussions and promoting strategic policies at the international level.
