A total of 203 educational institutions in Tegal City, Central Java, ranging from Early Childhood Education (PAUD), Elementary Schools (SD), Junior High Schools (SMP), Senior High Schools/Vocational Schools (SMA/SMK), Learning Activity Centers (SKB), to Community Learning Centers (PKBM), have received assistance in the form of Interactive Flat Panels (IFP) as part of the learning digitalization program. This assistance is part of a national program, out of a total of 449 educational institutions in Tegal City.
The symbolic launch of IFP utilization was conducted directly by the Mayor of Tegal, Dedy Yon Supriyono, at the Hall of SMP Negeri 10 Tegal City on Monday (15/12/2025), following a visit by the Mayor and his delegation to observe the use of the devices at SD Negeri Mangkukusuman 2.
Interactive Flat Panels are interactive touchscreen devices resembling high-resolution flat-screen televisions. They are equipped with various features to support learning, presentations, and collaboration. These devices are expected to create a teaching and learning process that is more interactive, effective, and enjoyable.
Dedy Yon emphasized that the presence of IFPs reflects the local government’s commitment to supporting the central government’s grant program to realize Smart Classrooms.
“This program from President Prabowo aims to make it easier for students to absorb lessons. Teachers do not only deliver material verbally, but also through visual illustrations such as images or real displays, making it easier for students to understand,” said Dedy Yon.
He added that learning patterns must continue to adapt to the times. According to him, the characteristics and learning styles of today’s generation differ from previous ones, so teaching methods must also adjust to the digital world.
“If we do not keep up with the times, we may feel that we are already advanced, but in reality we are not aligned with the needs and abilities of students who are now highly advanced in the digital world,” he explained.
Dedy Yon also expressed his appreciation to the central government for the IFP assistance. “I certainly hope that these devices can be used optimally by schools to improve the quality of learning while also supporting the improvement of human resource quality in the region,” he concluded.
The Head of the Tegal City Education and Culture Office, Ismail Fahmi, explained that the launch of IFPs is part of the regional commitment to supporting the national agenda for educational digital transformation.
“This is a strategic step to improve the quality of education services that are adaptive to technological developments and the needs of students, and in line with the mission of the President and Vice President to strengthen the development of superior human resources through improving education quality,” said Ismail Fahmi.
He added that digital transformation is directed at strengthening the role of educators, expanding access to learning resources, and improving student-centered learning quality. The Education Office is committed to providing ongoing assistance, training, and evaluation for teachers and education personnel. Training for school operators has also been carried out to ensure smooth device usage.
Angelita Maria Teresia, an eighth-grade student at SMP Negeri 10 Tegal City, expressed her enthusiasm for the learning system using IFPs.
“IFPs really help us understand the material. When teachers explain, the display makes the learning process clearer and more interesting,” said Angelita. (H-2)
