Deputy Minister Fajar Riza: IFP Helps Students Understand Material and Be Better Prepared for TKA

Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Fajar Riza Ul Haq, emphasized that the use of Interactive Flat Panels (IFP) helps students better understand learning materials and be more prepared for the Academic Competency Test (TKA).

The Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Wamendikdasmen), Fajar Riza Ul Haq, stated that the use of Interactive Flat Panels (IFP) is highly effective. This technology helps students better understand lessons and prepare for the Academic Competency Test (TKA). The statement was delivered during a working visit to West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on April 13–14, 2026.

The visit aimed to directly review the implementation and readiness of TKA in various schools. Fajar Riza stressed that the introduction of IFP in schools is a direct directive from President Prabowo Subianto. The goal is to strengthen a more interactive and in-depth learning process for all students.

The implementation of TKA for junior high school level (SMP/equivalent) took place from April 6 to 16, 2026. Meanwhile, TKA for elementary level (SD/equivalent) is scheduled from April 20 to 30, 2026. The Deputy Minister also engaged in dialogue with students to ensure they were not anxious about the test.

IFP Implementation – A Presidential Directive for Interactive Learning

Fajar Riza Ul Haq clearly explained that the implementation of IFP in schools is a firm directive from President Prabowo Subianto. This initiative aims to create a more dynamic and interactive learning environment so students can absorb lessons optimally.

The presence of IFP is an innovative solution to modern learning challenges. It allows teachers to present more engaging educational content through interactive visualizations, directly enhancing students’ understanding of complex concepts.

Students in NTB responded positively to the use of IFP. They found lessons easier to understand and felt better prepared to tackle complex TKA questions.

TKA Is Not a Graduation Requirement – Focus on Literacy and Numeracy

The main goal of TKA is to measure and improve Indonesia’s PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) scores. Through this mapping of competencies, the government can formulate more targeted education policies, supporting improvements in national education quality.

In his dialogue with students, Fajar encouraged them to view TKA as part of the learning process. He reminded them that intelligence can be developed quickly, but character takes years to build. Intelligence can be acquired, but character cannot be bought.

Vision of Quality Education and the Importance of Character in the Digital Era

The Deputy Minister’s visit to schools in NTB also reinforced the broader vision of Minister Abdul Mu’ti, which focuses on delivering quality education accessible to all levels of society. This reflects the government’s commitment to educational equity.

Fajar Riza also highlighted the importance of character amid rapid technological and AI advancements. He stated that character is the most valuable asset and that building strong character is essential in the digital age.

NTB Governor Lalu Muhamad Iqbal expressed his appreciation for the visit, stating that it demonstrates the government’s real presence for all groups and educational institutions, especially in a diverse region like NTB.
